Paul Ridley rows the Atlantic from the Canary Islands

Paul Ridley completed his solo Atlantic crossing on March 29th having departed from the Canary Islands, he arrived 88 days later in Antigua. He is only the third American to do so and the youngest. The 2950 mile voyage necessitated him rowing for up to 12 hours a day.

His motivation was to raise awareness and money for cancer research; he dedicated his solo trip to the memory of his mother who died of the disease in 2001.
