Growing numbers of foreigners in the Canary Islands

A recent census showed that the population of the Canary Islands has risen to 2.1 million. Of those, 300.000 are foreigners which equates to 15% of the population.

These figures are not surprising with many expats immigrating to enjoy the favourable climate and lay back lifestyle. Tenerife now has 91,584 EU nationals living on the Island which accounts for the enormous diversity of culture on the Island.
